About

I love sewing and all things fashion. But these two often seem suspiciously disjoint from each other. It frequently seems like fashion is a lifestyle reserved to the rich purchasing designer clothes and the not so rich coveting what they cannot afford, while sewing dregs up an image of a homely housewife quilting and darning socks.

It’s almost as if either you’re mindlessly worshiping the world of chic or you’re slaving away at sewing patterns only fashionable for middle aged woman.

I started this blog to walk the middle path, sewing without losing sight of style. There will be no patterns or copying of dresses from stores because this isn’t about following what others deem to be “in”. Sewing for me is always hand in hand with designing because there are so many opportunities to dress in other people’s visions and so few to dress in your own.

Ah, and during the day, I am, guess it…a scientist! My research is pretty esoteric so sometimes I need something like fashion to bring me back to human.

Truthfully?

I suppose I am young and I am fairly nondescript.
